    Jack Mosley, father and trainer of champion "Sugar Shane Mosley".

    Jack was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. He attended his school years in Watts, Ca., attending Markham Jr High and graduating from David Star Jordan High School. Jack later then continued his education at Los Angeles City College and Mt. Sac College for Real Estate and business classes. Jack worked at the county of Los Angeles for over 25 years as a Pro Curement, Physical Therapist Asst., and the Department of Social Services.

    “As an amateur coach, I trained Shane to win championship after championship in the district, regional and national tournaments as an amateur boxer. Shane won 3 national championships as a member of the USA ABF. He was number 1 in the country for 4 consecutive years, won a silver medal in the Junior World Tournament, and won a bronze medal in the Goodwill Games. I have trained Shane to win dual tournaments for the United States for 4 years or more. He was also an Olympic Alternate for the United States boxing team and won a silver medal in the World Championship.

    As professional trainers, Shane and I developed a style we call power boxing and build on to the best knock-out percentage of any fighter in the history of boxing with 30 fights or more.”

    This was accomplished during Shane’s lightweight years. As Shane climbed to the top, so did Jack receiving 3x time trainer of the year. He was also inducted as a Hall of Famer at Jordan High for Gymnastics.

    Jack Mosley is currently training other amateur fighters helping them reach their full potential in boxing. He is serving his community through the Mosley Foundation. Jack Mosley is one of the funniest and most down-to-earth people you will ever meet! He will literally, make you feel like to can reach the stars with his positive attitude, he is a true Champion!

  • "Sugar" Shane Mosley

    A Star was born September 7, 1971, boxer "Sugar" Shane Mosley toiled in professional obscurity for years before emerging as the undisputed champion of the lightweight division. He sought out challengers in higher weight classes, becoming a champion in the welterweight and super welterweight divisions, until time slowed his once-dazzling combination of speed and power.

    Mosley proved a formidable fighter on the Los Angeles amateur boxing circuit, a talent pool that included future champion Oscar De La Hoya. In 1989, he won the U.S. Amateur Championship as a lightweight and claimed the silver medal in the World Junior Championships. The following year he repeated as U.S. Amateur lightweight champion and

    won the bronze medal at the Goodwill Games. Mosley moved up a weight class and won the U.S. Amateur Championship as a light welterweight in 1992, but he fell short in his bid for the Olympics with a loss to Vernon Forrest at the trials for the 1992 games. Many believe that was due to the tragedy that happen months prior with his nephew. Regardless, he had high hopes after compiling a 250-10 amateur record and turned professional with his dad on board as a trainer.

    Mosley has held world titles in three weight divisions. He held the IBF Lightweight Championship, WBC & WBA (Super) Welterweight Championships, and WBC, WBA (Super) & The Ring Light Middleweight

    Championships. Staples Center on June 17, 2000, Mosley outpointed De La Hoya to win a title in his second weight class and cement his reputation as boxing's greatest pound-for-pound performance.

    Father of four children, after announcing his retirement, Mosley said he would devote more time to training his son, Shane Jr. Mosley has been inducted into the Las Vegas and New York Hall of Fame as one of pound-for-pound greatest fighters of all time and is known to break a fighter down with his vicious body shots. Shane Mosley has a heart of gold, he is an example of a true Champion inside and outside the ring!

    Shane Mosley Jr. is the son “Sugar” Shane Mosley and Tina Murphy. He was born in Pomona, Ca. on December 18th, 1990 where he was raised and attended the local schools.

    Shane Mosley Jr. took an interest in boxing at the age of 16 years old and started training with his dad and grandfather Jack Mosley, at the family gym in Pomona (Mosley Boxing Gym) where many other locals trained as well. Being around boxing all of his life, learning the skills, techniques, and sparring with some of the best and hardwork lead him to become the Champion his is today.

    On his journey to becoming a “Champion,” he secured a position on the hit reality show “The Contender” where he fought multiple fights to reach the top, becoming the finalist where he fought in front of a 15,000+ crowd and was viewed by millions of fans across the world. This show was a very important aspect of Shane Mosley Jr.'s life, it truly salified he could get in the ring with the greats! Shane Mosley Jr. currently holds the WBO Super Intercontinental Middle Weight Championship Title with a professional record of 18 wins and 4 losses. He continues to build his name not only as a boxer but also engaging in commentating, personal trainer, modeling, and CEO of “Tribe Called Mosley”, which will feature the memorabilia of his father, grandfather, and himself.

    Shane Mosley Jr is married to Alyssa Renea in which they share 3kids together. His grandmother Clemmie Jewel Mosley was someone special to him, so he decided to name his beautiful daughter after her. This would remind him that his success did not only come from the support of his father and grandfather but from the strong women who help take care of him while his father had to be at camp preparing for unforgettable fights that would live with people's hearts forever!

  • Diamond Johnson

    Diamond Jamal Johnson was born to Venus Mosley and James Johnson on February 14, 1985. Diamond was the 1st grandchild to the Mosley Family and he definitely brought joy to them all.

    Diamond had a strong personality, even at an early age you could tell he was very passionate about his desire to box. He loved to mimic his uncle Shane fight and pick up boxing skills at an early age. He would watch Shane’s fights (VHS) over and over until he perfected the skill. He would put his headgear on, his gloves, and his shadow box for hours, a champion in the making!

    On April 18th, 1988 the unthinkable happen, tragedy struck the Mosley Family. Shane and Diamond were in a car accident and the Mosley’s bundle of joy passed on. It was a very difficult time for the family as they had to deal with that while Shane was preparing for Olympic trails. Shane used his boxing to get through the pain of this tragic moment. Shane knew how much Diamond loved the sport, he fought and was determined to keep Diamond’s Legacy alive, he wouldn’t let his nephew down. Shane went on to achieve many accolades and remembers the great times spent with his beloved nephew. Though tragedy struck the Mosley Family, a blessing came after Venus had another baby boy Arion J. Johnson on September 20th, 1989. Diamond lives on through his brother Arion and his family, he will never be forgotten!
